EgyptAir Suspends All Flights To and From Khartoum Indefinitely
Due to the unstable security situation in Sudan, no flights will operate between Egypt and Khartoum for an indefinite period.
EgyptAir has announced the indefinite suspension of all its flights to and from Khartoum International Airport due to the unstable security situation in Sudan. The airport has been closed to all air traffic since Saturday morning following the outbreak of violence in Khartoum. EgyptAir had previously suspended its flights for 72 hours starting Saturday afternoon.
In a statement, EgyptAir urged customers who had booked flights to and from Khartoum International Airport to contact its call centre for more information. Customers can also visit the airline's website or the nearest EgyptAir sales office or travel agent. The airline will keep customers updated on the latest developments.
Fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces has been ongoing for four days. Earlier today, a senior military commander in the Sudanese army claimed that the RSF carried out acts of sabotage at Khartoum airport, disrupting air traffic.
