Egyptian Actor Talaat Zakaria Passes Away

Popular Egyptian film and television actor, Talaat Zakaria, passed away earlier today at the age of 59, leaving behind a legacy as one of Egyptian cinema’s leading comedians.

Though details are yet to be disclosed, it’s believed that Zakaria was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The Alexandria native first found fame in 2005’s Haha we Tofaha, alongside Egyptian actress, Yasmin Abdulaziz. A graduate of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art of Egypt, Zakaria began his career by taking various bit-roles in film, TV and theatre, but went on to star as the leading man in several film productions, including El Fil Fel Mandil and Halemo: Legend of the Beaches.
