Egyptian Cabinet Legalises 187 Churches & Service Buildings

A recent cabinet committee meeting has legalised an additional 187 churches and service buildings which had been previously operating without a permit, bringing the total number of legalised churches to 3,160 across Egypt. 

The decision was made in accordance with the 2016 law regulating the building of Christian places of worship, which has ushered the legalisation of over 2,800 churches over the last five years.
