Egyptian Champion Samar Hamza Tops United World Wrestling Rankings

Egyptian wrestler Samar Hamza is breaking records once again, garnering 71600 points in the 76 kg weight category to reach the top of the United World Wrestling rankings. She is followed by Turkish athlete Yasmine Adar who scored 63000 points.

At 27 years old, Hamza’s career marks her as a pioneer in Egyptian women’s wrestling, having been the first Egyptian woman wrestler to win a Wrestling World Championship medal in 2021, and the first to win a silver medal in a Wrestling World Championship in September 2022.
