Egyptian Citizen Gifts 125 Artefacts to Supreme Council of Antiquities

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities applauded a citizen’s initiative after he handed over his personal collection.

Egyptian history isn’t just found beneath sand dunes and ancient tombs - more often than not it can be found on a mantle or tucked away in a cupboard. An Egyptian citizen appears to fully encapsulate this notion after handing over his personal collection of 125 Egyptian artefacts to the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

The collection included historic engraved wooden doors, polished pottery pots, marble sinks, and copper chandeliers dating back to Egypt’s early Islamic period.

While details on the good samaritan’s acquisition of the collection are unknown, he was applauded by the ministry for his initiative and keenness on preserving Egyptian heritage.
