Egyptian Family Development Plan to Empower Women to Join Workforce
The ‘Egyptian Family Development’ campaign, set to launch in December, hopes to expand female participation in the Egyptian labour market.

Egypt is launching a new presidential campaign aiming to financially empower Egypt’s women. The ‘Egyptian Family Development’ campaign, set to launch in December, hopes to expand female participation in the Egyptian labour market.
In April, Egypt won a seat on the Executive Council of the United Nations Women and the Committee on the Status of Women after the state took legislative and procedural steps to reduce violence against women, underage marriage, female genital mutilation, and other issues over the last few years.
The initiative will be implemented in parallel to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development’s work towards their 2030 development goals, which aims to create one million jobs for women through small enterprises and training opportunities through the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development and the National Training Academy.
