Egyptian Government to Distribute Sacrificial Meat Throughout the Year

A new presidential decree has directed that sacrificial meat, or qurbani meat, will now be handed out to Egyptian citizens all-year round.The distribution will be carried out by the Ministry of Awqaf, as well as the Ministry of Social Solidarity, in order to help low-income citizens during a time of global economic uncertainty caused by disruptions in imports and trade in Europe.

The Ministry of Finance has allocated EGP 11 billion towards the undertaking.
