Egyptian Students Win 5 Prizes at the 2019 INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair

A number of Egyptian students snatched the first place in Material Science, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Software Systems, Environmental Engineering and Biochemistry at the 2019 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world's biggest international science competition at a pre-university level. The 2019 edition took place in Arizona, US, earlier this month. Competing in the Intel ISEF since 2008, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has sent a representative delegation of Egyptian students every year from 2013 through to this year. The students, who get to represent Egypt at Intel ISEF, are usually the same ones who have won at the annual Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF).

Founded in 1950, roughly 1700 students compete for Intel ISEF'S grand prizes every May, which include scholarships, internships, and cash prizes up to $75,000.
