Egyptian Universities to Convert Textbooks into E-Books

The Supreme Council of Universities will convert all university textbooks across all faculties into electronic copies.

As part of a larger push towards the digitisation of Egypt’s educational system, the Supreme Council of Universities has announced that it will convert all university textbooks across all faculties into electronic copies. University students across Egypt will forever be spared from the need to haul around all those textbooks to and from campus, at least starting from September 2021.

USD 70 million has been invested in the manufacture of locally-made educational tablets for students across all levels, while Egypt has invested EGP 7.35 billion into the digital infrastructure of Egypt’s public universities.
