Professional freelancers and contractors are benefiting the most from Egypt's economic growth, according to contractor recruitment firm 6CATS International, according to Enterprise.  Based on the data, Egypt saw a 73% increase in hires of freelancers from January to May of 2018.

"There’s certainly been a growth in business activity in Egypt that is leading to a significant increase in demand for contract professionals to plug talent gaps," CEO of 6CATS Michelle Reilly stated. Many areas of industry are showing this trend, "ranging from pharma and technical engineering to solar energy and offshore oil," explained Michelle. Many employers are finding themselves lacking certain expertise or require more employees and contractors are filling in the vacuum. Egypt's unemployment has also decreased to 10% in the first quarter of 2018 according to CAPMAS as more Egyptians are turning towards freelance and away from full employment.
