Esports Competition ‘Superdome’ Takes Over Cairo International Stadium

At Cairo International Stadium, there is no doubt that you've witnessed some of the most exhilarating football championships, sports events and national celebrations around. But have you ever seen anyone boot up a video game and proceed to blow you away with the most intense virtual showdown ever, right there in one of the biggest stadiums in the Arab world? On October 22nd, BME Esports is continuing their ever-escalating mission to bring esports into the spotlight with the final round of 'Superdome', a massive Valorant championship with a prize pool of USD 30,000!

The championship features eight of the biggest esports teams in the Middle East and Europe, all of whom have made their mark regionally and internationally for their proweress in Valorant, a team-based shooter by Riot Games (think Counterstrike but with superpowers). They include the likes of NASR Esports, an Emirati organisation that recently took top place at Masters Pro League Season 2, and Egypt's Team RA'AD, which took second place at Strike Arabia in 2021 and has seen a slew of first place victories across a number of regional tournaments this year. Representing Europe are gaming powerhouses Fnatic, which recently took first place at EMEA Stage 2 Challengers, and Acend, which won the grand prize at VALORANT Champions 2021, the franchise’s largest global competition.

BME Esports is a regional gaming and esports provider and organiser based in Cairo and London, having hosted some of the most prominent gaming events and tournaments in Egypt, such as gaming festival Insomnia Egypt and online platform SafeMode.

Superdome is currently airing virtually on Twitch until October 19th, before moving to Cairo International Stadium for the grand finale in front of a live crowd this Saturday.
