Fake Ancient Egyptian Tomb Found in Beni Suef
The supposed tomb contained a collection of false gold-plated statues, and may have been an attempt to defraud people.

A series of tunnels made to look like an ancient Egyptian tomb was discovered in the governorate of Beni Suef. The supposed tomb was decorated with murals that are meant to resemble ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and artwork, and was filled with false gold-plated statues.
According to the Supreme Council of Antiquities, the fake tomb is less than a year old, and may have been created to defraud the public. The fake tomb is currently under investigation, and the statues have since been destroyed by authorities.
