Fatma Omar Wins Egypt's Fourth Medal at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics

After leading the way as Egypt's flagbearer at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, powerlifter Fatma Omar maintains her legendary status by winning Egypt's fourth silver medal at this year's event.

Egypt’s hot streak continues as powerlifter Fatma Omar competed in the Women's -67 kg Powerlifting event, where she raised 120 kg to secure Egypt’s fourth silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Fatma

Omar led the way to this year’s events during the Paralympic Opening Ceremony, where she served as Egypt’s flagbearer. This is the sixth time she performed at the podium at the Paralympic Games. She made history as the first female Para powerlifter to win four Paralympic gold medals at the London 2012 Paralympics, after earning gold at 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, and 2008 Beijing. She won a silver medal during the Rio 2016 Paralympics, and has accumulated 15 medals at World Championships throughout her career.
