First Made-in-Egypt Electric Car Will Be Sold for Around EGP 180,000

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced that they have manufactured Egypt’s first native-made electric car, in collaboration with industrial partners. The car’s pricing is intended to be made accessible to the youth, with a price tag between EGP 150,000 and EGP 180,000.

Originally slated for release in early 2024, the electric car is being developed by EgyptSat Auto and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in Cairo. The first model was demonstrated at the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference in Sharm El Sheikh in November 2022.
