Crossfit Stars, the first crossfit box in Egypt, has been acquired by fitness facility chain MOVE Egypt, ushering in a new chapter for the crossfit business and rebirthing its legacy.

Founded in 2011 by coach Ramy, Crossfit Stars is going to be preceded and led by coach Ali Ismail, the founder of MOVE Egypt. “We’ve always seen Crossfit Stars as pioneers. They were the first to introduce this kind of training and group classes to Egypt in their unique way,” Ismail tells CairoScene. “They’ve been around for over a decade, so we are effectively buying a piece of Egypt’s local fitness history. It’s really an honor. As MOVE, we haven’t been very affiliated with cross fit before and this was a fantastic opportunity to diversify our offerings.”

With gymnastics and martial arts recently being added to MOVE Egypt’s services and classes, crossfit comes as the next natural progression for the fitness centre. They plan to rethink the Crossfit Stars approach, without stripping it of its rich community and unique experience. As for MOVE Egypt’s plan for Crossfit Stars, they are going to continue to keep it as its own entity and team, along with an aggressive expansion plan and a restructured vision for their marketing and communications strategy.

The first branch is set to open in New Cairo upon completion, and will then expand towards Heliopolis, 6th of October, and Downtown Cairo.
