The Governorate of South Sinai has inaugurated its first five electric buses in Sharm El Sheikh.
At an estimated cost of EGP 50 million, the buses are able to accommodate 49 passengers and are each equipped with internal and external cameras. The buses can travel 300 to 350 kilometres per charge, with charging time ranging from 120 to 180 minutes. The buses are capable of travelling at no more than 70 kilometres per hour.
The move comes as the governorate aims to promote its environmentally friendly policies and cut down on emissions in the region.
