Construction has begun on the first Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation branch outside of Egypt in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.

Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub has laid the foundation stone for the first Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation branch outside of Egypt. The celebrated Egyptian cardiothoracic surgeon is expanding the same foundation that saves thousands of lives in Egypt annually in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.

Part of the expansion has been financed by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will oversee purchase, supply, and installation of all the equipment of the first phase of the project.
