Giza’s 15th of May Bridge Will Shut Down for Three Months

The 15th of May bridge in Giza will be shut down for three months, until April 18th, in order to renovate and expand the bridge. The project aims to ease traffic congestion and increase the bridge’s capacity.

Access to the bridge through Sphinx square has been blocked, and a new turnaround below the 15th of May bridge has been added in Mohandeseen’s Ahmed Orabi street, redirecting traffic towards Zamalek and Downtown Cairo. The Giza governorate’s Central Traffic Department has also installed traffic signs throughout the bridge’s neighbouring routes to redirect civilians and monitor traffic congestion.
