Luxor’s Great Hypostyle Hall, nestled inside the iconic Karnak Temple, is undergoing its second restoration phase, bringing even more glory back to the city’s historic treasures.

The project will restore the original colours of the walls, the columns and the pharaonic inscriptions that are etched into them through a clarification and purification process. The hall has 134 inscribed columns, 28 of which were restored during the first phase in 2021, with the rest currently underway.

The project is led by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities alongside a team of 30 Egyptian archaeologists.
