Here's Your Chance to Officially Name the New Administrative Capital
The Egyptian Armed Forces' Engineering Authority launched a contest for people to pitch a new name, logo and slogan that will form the city’s official visual identity.
Let’s face it. ‘New Administrative Capital’ doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, does it? Let’s not even talk about how much space that’d take up when you’re filling in your address somewhere. Since its development began in 2015, the mega fourth-generation city has only been known by this all-too utilitarian moniker.
Well the good news is that it’s just a placeholder. The even-better news is that the Egyptian Armed Forces' Engineering Authority launched a contest for people to pitch a new name, logo and slogan that will form the city’s official visual identity. Yeah, that’s right. YOU could be the one who names the new capital. Do you think they’d consider ‘CairoScene City’ as an option? No?
Anyway, the main thing about the contest is that it’s all about harnessing the creativity of the Egyptian people, and encouraging active participation in national projects. According to the engineering authority, the new name and logo should reflect Egypt’s vision for advancing society through innovation, science, art, technology and sustainability.
All Egyptian citizens are eligible to participate, and can submit their proposals by Thursday, November 18th, at www.egbranding.eg.
