After becoming the first Egyptian to reach the final round of the WTA Tour, Mayar Sherif has accumulated enough points with the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) to break into their Top 100 rankings, becoming the first Egyptian tennis player to have ever reached that far. The 25-year-old Pepperdine alum is now officially ranked No. 97 in the entire world for women's tennis. Sherif proved she was able to go toe-to-toe with other Top 100 players during the WTA Tour, having defeated No. 59 Alizé Cornet in a stunning upset, as well as former World No. 20 Mihaela Buzarnescu.
