Mercedes-Benz to Produce Electric Cars in Egypt

Mercedes-Benz is in talks to produce electric cars here in Egypt. The Ministry of Trade and Industry met with Mercedes-Benz Egypt to discuss the possibility of introducing the electric cars to the Egyptian market, and manufacturing them locally in the near future.

These talks coincide with the establishment of a growing infrastructure for electric vehicles across Egypt, including the construction of the country’s largest EV charging station by Egyptian sustainability company Infinity. The Egyptian government is also planning out public charging stations throughout Cairo, Alexandria and Qalyubia.
