Minister of Immigration Wins Award from UN's Organization of Migration

The award reflects the minister’s efforts to promote safe migration and combat illegal migratory practices, and care for Egyptians abroad as well as refugees in Egypt.

Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Nabila Makram has been given the ‘Friends of Migrants’ award by the International Organisation for Migration, an organisation that is related to the United Nations.

The award reflects the minister’s efforts to promote safe migration and combat illegal migratory practices, care for Egyptians abroad through programmes like the ‘Etkalem Arabi’ initiative to teach colloquial Arabic to young Egyptians, and implement state policy that allows for large numbers of refugees to find a secure home in Egypt.
