Ministry of Health Receives First Shipment of Evusheld
The shipment includes enough doses of Evusheld to treat 50,000 people, and will be distributed amongst hospitals across Egypt.

The Ministry of Health and Population will soon receive its first shipment of Evusheld, an antibody treatment by AstraZeneca that was designed to protect people with weaker immune systems against COVID-19 infection, and could also treat symptoms in mild to moderate cases of COVID-19.
The shipment includes enough doses of Evusheld to treat 50,000 people, and will be distributed amongst hospitals across Egypt. Evusheld is a combination of two medications given together: tixagevimab and cilgavimab, both of which are lab-made monoclonal antibodies. It was recently given emergency use authorization from the Egyptian Drug Agency, although it was noted that Evusheld should not be considered a replacement for vaccination.
