Ministry of Planning Opens Donation Account for People with Informal Employment

Hala Al Saeed, the Minister for Planning and Economic Development, announced that an account had been opened in Banque Misr for Egyptians with irregular or informal employment to help lighten their economic burden after some sectors have experienced total closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. The account is open to donations from individuals and institutions who would like to help out during these uncertain times.

The prime minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, formed a committee of multiple ministers to discuss the topic of informal employment and gather data before they opened the account.

Any workers who would like to receive funds, which is registered under the account number 2030, will need to apply and prove they are not receiving any other forms of benefits or support.
