High praise indeed...

Staff Writer

Liverpool and Egypt star, Mohamed Salah, came in fourth place in the Best FIFA Men’s Player awards last night, coming behind winner Lionel Messi, club teammate Virgil Van Dijk in second place, and Cristiano Ronaldo in third.

The awards are voted for by managers, players and journalists from around the world, with the final results giving Salah 26 points, in comparison to Messi's 46, Van Dijk's 38 and Ronaldo's 36. It was a fruitful night all round for Liverpool, who won the 2018-2019 Champions League, with head coach, Jurgen Klopp, winning Best Manager and Brazilian teammate, Allison, winning Best Goalkeeper.

Salah’s ranking means he has dropped one place in the voting since last year, when he came in third place behind winner, Croatia and Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, and second-placed Ronaldo.
