National Museum of Egyptian Civilization Will Add Audio Guide System

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat will soon incorporate an immersive audio guide system, with a special focus on the Royal Mummies Hall.

Visitors will soon be able to use headphones to explore the stories behind the museum’s rare collection of royal mummies. The implementation of this new technology hopes to expedite people’s time within the Royal Mummies Hall and help maintain its climate, and better preserve the contents of the hall as a result.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization displays various aspects of Egyptian history, from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum's official inauguration was marked by the famed Pharaohs’ Golden Parade in 2021, which saw the transfer of 22 royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to their new home in Fustat.
