New Coastal Development in Sharjah to House 60,000 Residents
The Ajmal Makan City – Sharjah Waterfront project will introduce residential, commercial, and tourism facilities to Al Hamriyah.

A new AED 25 billion coastal development is underway in Al Hamriyah, Sharjah, spanning 60 million square feet and designed to accommodate over 60,000 residents across eight islands. The Ajmal Makan City – Sharjah Waterfront project includes a mix of residential, commercial, and tourism spaces, with key infrastructure developments planned.
The project will feature 1,500 villas, mid-rise residential buildings, hotels, a university, schools, and a theme park, alongside retail and dining areas. The coastline will be extended by 36km, incorporating a marina with 800 yacht berths, a 1.6-million square foot theme park, and a 3-million square foot shopping mall. Waterfront restaurants, cafés, and entertainment venues are also planned.
Construction is ongoing, with phases such as Sun Island and Blue Bay Walk already completed. Future developments—including Al Thuraya Island, The View Island, and Blue Beach Residence—will introduce additional residential and commercial spaces. The project is expected to generate employment across real estate, infrastructure, retail, hospitality, education, healthcare, and entertainment sectors.
Approximately 60% of the development is allocated to green spaces, beaches, and public areas, with sustainability incorporated into its design.
