New Committee Established in Abu Dhabi to Tackle Noise Pollution
The new measure is part of a broader strategy in Abu Dhabi to positively affect the emirate’s environmental aspects.
A new committee has been formed by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) to discover sources of noise pollution and note the worst affected residential areas of Abu Dhabi. The noise mapping will then assist the government in mitigating the negative effects of noise pollution by setting up green spaces and creating more noise barriers.
The new measure is part of a broader strategy in Abu Dhabi to positively affect the emirate’s environmental aspects and better health impacts. Officials in Abu Dhabi have noted that noise pollution adversely affects the health of citizens through increasing levels of stress, sleep disturbance and cardiovascular issues amongst the populace.
