New Dubai Bridge Slashes Travel Time to Al Mina Street by 88 Minutes

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened a new bridge as part of the Al Shindagha Corridor redevelopment, significantly improving traffic flow and cutting commute times. The latest addition brings the project’s completion to 90 percent, with just two more bridges left to be finalized in the coming months.

Spanning 1,210 metres, the three-lane bridge can accommodate up to 4,800 vehicles per hour, ensuring seamless connectivity for traffic coming from the Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street towards the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street.

The Al Shindagha Corridor redevelopment, covering 4.8 kilometres, is a landmark urban mobility initiative aimed at easing congestion and enhancing road safety. The corridor will feature five new bridges, with the final two set to open in the second quarter of 2025. His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, confirmed that the first of these upcoming bridges will be 780 metres long with three lanes, carrying 4,800 vehicles per hour and serving traffic from Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street towards Al Wasl Street. The second bridge, measuring 985 metres with a two-lane structure, will facilitate the movement of 3,200 vehicles per hour, connecting Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street and Al Saqr Interchange.

In addition to these milestones, a key component of the corridor—a 605-metre, two-lane bridge on Sheikh Rashid Road—was completed in January, enabling a smoother transit for 3,200 vehicles per hour between Al Mina Street and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street.
