Old is Nu

Get your Deloreans all revved up and ready to go back to the glory days of House and Disco as Cairo Jazz Club throws the deliciously retro night, Old is Nu. The super cool night of naughtiness will take place on Monday 13th October and will see everyone's favourite venue transformed with retro decor, stomping club beats and some of Cairo's best party people having a damn good time. DJ SHawky is taking to the decks to whip the crowd into a frenzy with his unique blend of Nu Disco and Retro House, after DJ Zalat - a quickly rising name on the club scene - warms things up.

DJ SHawky himself admits he can't wait to take to the stage on the night, which will celebrate his second anniversary at the July 26 Street night spot. He tells us:"I'm going to be performing the best in Deep Disco and House on the night, it is going to be electric! Cairo Jazz Club is an amazing veneue because the crowd is always so up for it  The vibe is amazing, anything goes."

Speaking about the Cairo club scene generally, SHawky believes that the city's nightlife is constantly in flux. "It has been an amazing two years since I first played at Cairo Jazz Club and the scene has changed a lot since then. I think there is something big about to happen again; the scene in Cairo is constantly evolving - we are always waiting for the next big change. It really is a great city to party in." If you need anymore inspiration to get you in the mood, just ask your parents how they used to get down back in the day. Then add a whole lot of drinks (the part they won't admit) and voila! You're ready to go...
