Olympic Wrestler ‘Kesho’ Plans to Sue Egyptian Media for Defamation
Olympic Wrestler 'Kesho' declares his intention to take legal action against Egyptian media for defamation.
Egyptian wrestler Mohamed Ibrahim El-Sayed, known as ‘Kesho’, has publicly expressed his intention to take legal action against Egyptian media for defamation and their coverage of his assault charges in Paris, after the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence.
Kesho has now returned to Cairo, and according to Fil Goal, he was ‘very upset by the reactions of Egyptian media’, but has been assured by the Egyptian Ambassador to France that ‘steps will be taken to restore his reputation’. He also allegedly declared ‘I will sue Egyptian media and the press, and I will not give up my rights.’
The wrestler reportedly was most concerned about ‘the impact of the news on [his] mother’. He also stated that he will not be retiring, but rather will continue to prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
