Over 14 Million Travellers Visited Madinah in 2023
The Al-Madinah Region Development Authority reported that tourists spent more than SAR 49 billion during their stay.
Madinah experienced a significant surge in visitors in 2023, reaching over 14.1 million. The Al-Madinah Region Development Authority reported that tourists spent more than SAR 49 billion during their stay, which averaged ten days.
The influx of visitors is largely attributed to religious tourism, with many spending time in the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque, as well as exploring historic sites related to the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In response to this growing interest, the authority is collaborating with partners to enhance the experience for pilgrims and visitors by preparing over 100 sites that will improve their religious and cultural journeys.
