PureHealth Opens Memory Clinic to Advance Dementia Care in Abu Dhabi

PureHealth has launched a new memory clinic in Abu Dhabi, offering multidisciplinary care for dementia and cognitive disorders. The facility is jointly operated by Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) and Sakina, both subsidiaries of PureHealth.

Located within SSMC, the clinic aims to address a growing gap in early detection and long-term management of cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. The initiative comes amid rising cases linked to ageing, diabetes, and hypertension in the UAE, and seeks to provide comprehensive care through advanced diagnostics and specialist expertise.

The clinic integrates neuroimaging, biomarker testing, genetic screening, and multidisciplinary case reviews. It is staffed by professionals in geriatric psychiatry, cognitive neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, and neuroradiology. In addition to clinical care, the facility will support ongoing research into population-level cognitive health, including clinical trials for Alzheimer’s treatment and the use of AI-based screening tools.

According to PureHealth, the clinic is intended to strengthen national healthcare capacity in memory care, support medical professionals through specialist collaboration, and contribute to improved patient outcomes through early and accurate diagnosis.
