Ras Badran's Petrojet Gets World Record for Largest Floating Roof Tank

Under the towering shadow of the world’s tallest man, and in between the labyrinth that is the longest fingernails on a pair of hands - figures who have served as the poster children of the Guinness Book of Records for years - you will find the construction wing of Egypt’s petroleum sector, Petrojet. The establishment has recently found its place in the infamous book by having the world’s largest floating roof tank.

Measuring at 21.83 metres high and 110 metres long, the tank’s diameter can fit approximately 177 clones of Jyoti Kisanji Amge, the shortest woman alive. Humbled by the recognition, a Petrojet statement described the listing as “nothing short of amazing.”

With a capacity of 175,000 cubic metres, the first-of-its-kind warehouse tank’s storage space can hold over 1 million barrels of crude oil, which is probably enough to oil up each participant ever throughout the world’s longest-running festival, the Kirkpinar Oil Wrestling Tournament, which has been running for 661 years.

It’s a wacky world out there, and it’s about time Petrojet earns its name among the giants.
