Richard Gere & Mohammed Al Turki Honoured at Venice Film Festival
The Foundation for AIDS Research has announced Mohammed Al Turki as an honoree of its annual Venice Film Festival gala.
The Foundation for AIDS Research (AmfAR) has announced Hollywood star Richard Gere and Saudi film producer, philanthropist and former Red Sea Film Foundation CEO Mohammed Al Turki as honorees of its annual Venice Film Festival gala, AmfAR Venezia.
Gere has been announced as the recipient of the Award of Inspiration for his continued role in HIV/AIDS activism and his humanitarian work for those on the margins of society.
Mohammed Al Turki will be honoured with the Philanthropic Leadership Award for the Festival’s patronage of the Foundation’s philanthropic work.
Set to take place on September 1st, AmfAR Venezia will be hosted at the Hangar Nicelli, Lido di Venezia, with sponsors of the event including the Red Sea Film Festival, Chopard, Campari and the World Gold Council.
The Foundation is a leading non-profit in the global support of research into and prevention of HIV/AIDS, and has invested more than USD 635 million into its projects since its founding in 1985.
The 81st edition of the Venice Film Festival runs from August 28th to September 7th.
