Samih Sawiris Makes Sizable Donation to Initiative Spaying Hurghada's Stray Dogs

Samih Sawiris, the Egyptian billionaire and mastermind behind El Gouna, announced that he's donating EGP 50 thousand to a Hurghada initiative which spays stray dogs all around the Red Sea resort to help contain the issue of their overpopulation.

Head of Hurghada's Veterinarian Syndicate, Waheed Rafaat, announced that the spaying and releasing campaign will last about 6 days, with the participation of Egyptian and Swiss vets.

Suzy Austenger, head of the Swiss Animal Care association, had previously announced she is seeking to vaccinate Hurghada's stray dogs against rabies, as well as spay them, in order to put an end to the cruelty stray animals usually face in Hurghada.
