Ahead of the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference, Sharm El-Sheikh Museum is embarking on the renewable energy train. The Egyptian government is set to launch a solar power plant, with a capacity of 280 kilowatts, in the museum this November, as part of a wider effort to turn the entirety of Sharm El Sheikh into a green city.

Having welcomed visitors since 2020, the museum is one of the first of its kind in Sinai, with 5,200 artefacts covering much of the history of Egyptian civilization and putting a spotlight on everyday life in the ancient past.
