South Sinai Governorate Declared Free of Illiteracy

The government of South Sinai is officially free of illiteracy, according to an announcement by Governor of South Sinai, Major General Khaled Fouda, and Chairman of  the General Authority for Adult Education, Dr Mohamed Nasif.

The declaration is a culmination of the efforts of the General Authority for Adult Education and the South Sinai governorate over the past few years, during which they’ve launched multiple adult educational programmes and developmental initiatives.

The current illiteracy rate in South Sinai has reached 5.3%, dropping far below the United Nations’ recorded global illiteracy rate of 13.7% in 2022.
