Sweet Deals Led to EGP 1.5 Billion Exports of Mangos and Pomegranates
Pomegranate exports amounted to approximately EGP 898 million over this period, a 3.6% increase from last year’s total. Mangos, on the other hand, saw an increase of 20.3% compared to last year.

It’s no secret that Egyptians have quite the voracious appetite for the sweeter things in life. Well, apparently the rest of the world also has a sweet tooth for Egypt’s delicious fruits. Between January 2021 and October 2021, Egypt’s mango and pomegranate exports amounted to a whopping EGP 1.5 billion in total.
Pomegranate exports amounted to approximately EGP 898 million over this period, a modest 3.6% increase from last year’s total. Mangos, on the other hand, saw an increase of 20.3% compared to last year, with exports totaling to about EGP 867 million.
It’s not just Egyptian fruit the world is after. Local fresh onions are bringing a tear to our eyes with their success, with Egypt exporting about EGP 198 million worth of them.
