The Big Eid Guide

Big Eid means big celebrations. Whether you’re staying in the city, or heading off to the glorious Red Sea, there’s something to do, people to see and places to party. Starting from Wa2fa on Monday 14th of October, all the way through until Thursday, we’ve got everything worth going to listed in our comprehensive guide:

Cairo

Fairmont Heliopolis & Towers

Don’t be down about getting stuck in Cairo because the Fairmont Heliopolis & Towers have got you and yours covered all Eid long. For only 999LE a night, the Fairmont is offering plenty of activities for kids and a beautiful pool, designed to help you forget your worries. Book for two nights and get the third free! This deal is literally bananas and, if you like bananas, make sure to catch the Banana festival taking place all month long at Le Marché. If that doesn't work, then surely a Martini at the Fuze Bar’s Martimania event running all month long will help while Aqua E Luce’s lobster and crab specials will definitely get crustaceans lovers all excited. If you’re in a hurry for some good curry, however, Raj is celebrating the authentic dish in all its forms, all month long.

Ramses Hilton

Just because you’re in Cairo, it doesn’t mean you have to stay home all the time. The Ramses Hilton is offering double rooms for just 555 LE per room, per night (based on two sharing). There is also a buffet breakfast, early check in and late check out, free parking and a 15% discount on laundry.

Conrad Cairo

When was the last time you went to the iconic Conrad Cairo hotel? Check in this Eid and get a room for two with a Nile view, complimentary breakfast and early check in and late check out for just 666 LE per room per night and a 15% discount on any additional rooms. If you want to catch some rays in between parties, their pool day use offer includes a room to change in until 8pm and 50% off parking for just 400 LE for the day. On Wednesday 16th October, they’ll also be offering up a delicious brunch buffet at their stunning Jayda restaurant, overlooking the Nile, for just 155 LE per person.

Now on to the parties…

Wa2fa night in Cairo sees a plethora of events, from Hossam Jamaica on the decks at Yasso Lounge to Heatbeat at Andrea (remember that place?). But it’s not until Tuesday 15th October – the first official day of Eid – that things really heat up in the city.

Cairo Jazz Club kicks things off with Jammin’ Tuesday featuring none other than DJ Fabric on the decks, playing the freshest Vocal House tunes to start the celebrations on a high note.

DJ AR plays the best of Arabic and English Commercial Pop, House and Dance tunes. He’ll be joined a threesome of young lasses, El Hawsageya, on the mic for some serious fun at Cavallini.

Keep the party going long after curfew and get locked in at Bamboo which will see resident DJs Bob, Kiko, Zizo and 3abkarino on the decks from 10pm all the way through to 5am.

On Wednesday 16th October, CJC get the night going again, this time with DJ KZ at the helm, playing a ‘Movie For Your Ears’ at Dymanic Wednesday. Expect House and lots of it.

Bamboo will be hosting its four fierce resident DJs once again for Spice It Up, where they’ve promised another after-hours party to rival any other.

After two nights of partying hard, why not head for Brunch at Ramses Hilton on Thursday 17th October? For just 175LE per person, you can indulge on a whole host of five-star cuisine the hotel has on offer.

Once you’ve filled up on food, head to CJC and fill up on Funk! Deja’Vu will be on hand to take you through the night with an evening jam packed with Blues, Funk and Rock covers for a bit of grown-up fun.

Bamboo also carries on its streak of post-curfew lock-ins with a night filed with all the songs everyone knows the words to, keeping the crowds on their feet until the crack of dawn.

Sahl Hasheesh

Officially the destination of choice for Cairo’s coolest as of late, Sahl Hasheesh is back with their infamous Technicolour Weekend. Starting on Thursday 17th October, the 48 hour party marathon kicks off with a dose of uplifting Vocal House courtesy of DJ Shawky’s finely tuned spinning skills, starting at 12 Noon. He’ll set the scene for none other than Portuguese legend, DJ Rui Da Silva. Having shot to fame for his original, pure House tunes, he’s also famous for his remixes, so keep your ears open for his unique style. Friday 18th October sees DJ Carlos get the afternoon started with a mish mash of different EDM styles ensuring there’s something for everyone to get down to. He’ll be followed DJ Axel Fowely, flying in from Ibiza especially to give Egypt a taste of the party capital of the world.

*****

Gouna

There’s never a shortage of parties in Gouna, and this extra-long break is no exception. Tuesday 15th October sees Electric Tuesday at the infamous Club 88. With up-and-coming German Techno, House and Nu-Disco outfit Teenage Mutants on the decks, you’ll be on your feet long into the night thanks to Gouna’s curfew exemption.

Club 88 remains the place to be throughout the Eid period but you’ll have to get up early-ish on Wednesday 16th October to make it to the Baywatch Party which starts at 1pm. With Italian stallion-ess DJ Katrina Davies spinning in the sunshine, expect plenty of happy faces and, hopefully, some bright red swimsuits.

Thursday 17th October sees Club 88 transformed into a sexier affair for the long-awaited Starlight Disco. DJ Purple Disco Machine will be playing the best in… you guessed it… Disco! With Heineken providing the beer all night, and Valmont providing the bubbly, this is one you don’t want to miss.

Finally, wind down on Friday afternoon at Club 88's Refresh Pool Party for chilled out vibes and even chiller drinks.

*****

Hurghada

Cairo’s very own DJ Samba and DJ Aly Goede will be kicking off Hurghada’s festivities with a wa2fa night party at South Beach on Monday 14th October. Expect the best of Techno, House and Electro as these party-favourites play back-to-back.

The Hilton Hurghada Resort has come over all pink, throwing a two day extravaganza inspired by the colour of passion, prettiness and partying. Pink plans to revive tourism in Egypt and the new event - which is planned to be an annual one - will take over the Hilton's sprawling beach and pier for 48 hours nights of music, madness and an open bar on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th October.

*****

Sharm El Sheikh

There’s never a shortage of parties in Sharm El Sheikh, but there’s only one that really stand out this Eid. Pacha will be putting together a quadruple-threat of a line up as Cairo Meets Sharm for a very special edition of House Nation. With Pacha residents DJs Ouzo and Joe representing Sharm El Sheikh and none other than Nacelle residents Baher and Ali G representing Cairo, this will be the parties to end all parties on Thursday 17th October.
