The Convergence: A Festival of Love

Hippies from all over the world are converging in Sinai for five-day music fest, The Convergence. We give you the lowdown on the biggest festival celebrating NYE in Dahab.

Dahab is currently being turned into a melting pot; music festival The Convergence, taking place from the 25th until the 31st of December, sees people from different walks of life (ahem, hippies) coming together as one to celebrate life through music and dance. Festival-goers are coming from all over the world, with different backgrounds, creeds, and nationalities, sharing one thing in common: their love of life and appreciation of beauty.

The convergence being referred to is not just of tribes, but also of musical taste and style, with artists representing many different genres, from Psy-Trance to Deep House, convening at the festival. Artists from all over the world are joining forces to bring to you the soundtrack for this event, set to take place over several days. It starts on the 25th, where a day of Psy-Trance is scheduled with a line-up of acid washed dreams. A live concert on the 27th follows, where you will be able to indulge in a range of experimental and ambient sounds played live, leaving the 29th for Deep House and Techno sounds. As if all of the previous wasn’t enough, the guys from Sun Network decided to extend the festival for two more nights; the 30th will feature a live/open mic night, and NYE will see Sinai's favourite genre, Psy-Trance back in full force to end the year.

The line-up is to die for, with DJs from Germany, France, Egypt, and Switzerland. Furthermore visuals, for the three musical nights will contain UV-decorations by Fluoronauten and video projections by Psynai, Chai, and Chill. Eye candy, eargasms, and the sea right in front of you at the beautiful Acacia Hotel - what more can you ask for?
