Three Egyptian Hotels Ranked Among Best in the World by Influential Travel + Leisure Magazine

Influential New York-based magazine, Travel + Leisure (T+L), has listed three of Egypt’s top hotels as part of 'The 10 Best City Hotels in North Africa and the Middle East' and, more significantly,  'The Top 25 Hotel Brands in the World'.

With two of Cairo’s own, Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino and Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza listed among the top urban hotels in the Middle East, Hotel Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan also ranked 8th among the top 15 global brand hotels.

With the numbers based on the international ranking of the facility in mention, here are the results: the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza came in fifth place with a score of 93.82, while Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino came in tenth place with a score of 86.75, with the Old Cataract holding eighth among the top 15 brand hotels in the world with a score of 93.60.

Rankings and reviews usually come from the magazine’s feedback on their travel experiences - evaluating everything, from food to facilities to location, among many other things.

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mashat appraised the hotels’ successes on her official accounts, as well as highlighted the ministry’s efforts in light of uplifting Egyptian hotels in an aim to meet international standards, tweeting:

“For ‘Travel + Leisure’ magazine’s 2019 Top 10 Best City Hotels in the Middle East and North Africa, congratulations to the contemporary Four Seasons Nile Plaza on coming in fifth place and the historic Cairo Marriott Hotel for tenth place.”
