In January 2018, three men in Farshout, a village north
of the Qena governorate, have been accused of the kidnap, rape and
attempted murder of a young 17-year old woman who had been dubbed
'Farshout Girl' by the media. After more than two years, and after the
case had been brought before a Mufti, the men have been given the death
sentence today on July 21st, 2020.
