Trial Operation of Attaba-Kit Kat Metro Line Begins Mid-May

Metro Line 3 - stretching out over 17.7 KM from Attaba Station to Kit Kat square - will soon get on track, with trial runs planned in mid-May. This initial run will test the capabilities of the train without passengers, and then invite actual passengers to try it out in July.

Cairo Metro’s third line will include 15 stations, going from Downtown Cairo through Maspero Square, and passing under the Nile to reach Zamalek, before going under the river again to reach Kit Kat. Further expansions have been planned from there, with two branches from Kit Kat Station. One of these branches will take passengers towards Rod Al-Farag Corridor Station, while the other will end at Cairo University Station, bringing with it a new connection to Metro Line 2.
