The Evangelical Church of Egypt, which was founded in 1854 and gained autonomy in 1926, has been serving local communities through numerous social, educational, and medical programs. Its community is estimated to include over 250,000 Evangelical Christians.
This development follows an earlier initiative led by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly to regulate the status of churches and their associated buildings throughout the country.
