UK PM Rishi Sunak Appoints Mohamed Mansour Treasurer of Conservatives

Egyptian billionaire and former Egyptian Minister of Transport, Mohamed Mansour, has been appointed Senior Treasurer by the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, for the kingdom’s Conservative Party. Mansour has been charged to raise funds in the run-up to the United Kingdom’s next general election.

“It is a great honour and privilege to have been appointed as senior treasurer of the Conservative party and a member of the treasurer’s team of the party,” Mohamed Mansour said during his appointment. “The prime minister is making the hard choices that are necessary during a tough period for the country and, as a proud British citizen, I look forward to working with the team to support the party and the country.”

Having served as one of the top fundraisers for the Egyptian government before and during his time as Minister of Transport between 2006 and 2009, Mansour has paved a similar path in the United Kingdom, with his dealership, Unatrac, donating over GBP 600,000 to the Conservative Party.

As the creator of his family's investment company Man Capital, Mansour was also awarded a position on the British government's advisory investment council in 2021.
