US Approves USD 1 Billion Deal for Military Training in Saudi Arabia

The US State Department approved the sale of USD 1 billion worth of military training programs to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The programs will take place inside and outside the kingdom, and include flight training, technical training, professional military education, English language training and technical training, amongst others. The programs will cover topics such as civilian casualty avoidance, command and control, and the laws of armed conflicts and human rights.

Around 339 US government or contractor training personnel will travel to help implement these programs for at least a year, with the possibility of extension.
