'Wings for Life' Race Funds Spinal Cord Research at Jeddah Circuit

On May 5th, a determined group of racers are taking to the streets of Jeddah to raise money for a worthy cause. The 11th edition of the Wings for Life World Run, a global race that raises money for spinal cord researchers, will see runners and wheelchair riders lined up together on the starting line at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the fastest motor racing street circuit in the world.

Those at the Jeddah track are not the only racers in this event. The Wings for Life World Run has participants all over the world tracking their progress through the race’s special app. Rather than aiming for a finish line, these runners and riders keep moving until they are caught by the “virtual catcher car,” which starts moving at 14 km/hour 30 minutes after the race has started. The “catcher car” gradually increases its speed until the last athlete is caught.

The Wings for Life World Run is sponsored by Red Bull. This event raises money for spinal cord research projects, with 100% of all entry fees and donations going to this cause.
