The seventh edition of the Zayed Charity Marathon will take place this Friday, December 23rd in Alexandria for the first time! All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Ahl Masr Hospital, which provides free treatment to burn victims across Egypt.

The Zayed Charity Marathon is a renowned international running event for charity, established more than 20 years ago, in honour of Sheikh Zayed, the UAE's founding father. In 2014, the marathon came to Egypt and has been a highly-anticipated annual event ever since, organised under the patronage of the UAE embassy in Egypt and under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The marathon includes a 10 kilometre race for men and women, and a two kilometre race for people with disabilities, kids under 10 years old, and seniors over 60. The race will begin and end at the Alexandria Stadium.

The total prize pool for this year will be EGP 5 million split between 5 thousand winners, as well as 60 Umrah trips that will be given out through a raffle following the conclusion of the event.
